Hi! I’m Parker.
My design approach stems from a genuine love and curiosity towards other people. I’ve built a career based on my strength in balancing the needs of users & customers with the goals of a business. As a designer I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading brands on complex and high-impact projects. In the other half of my career, as a guide in the outdoor industry, I’ve spent years empathizing and attuning to the needs of a globally diverse roster of clients. My expansion into UX was the natural merger of these skills - bringing years of interpersonal leadership skills in line with my well-honed process as a designer.
I have worked on projects in UI/UX, branding and identity, illustration, motion graphics, web design, and print design. My 9-year freelance career has been defined by robust and lasting collaborative partnerships and a consistent ability to learn new tools & approaches.

Freelance Designer | 2014-Present
Provided a full range of design services to over 80 clients, from brand ideation & visual identity development up through production graphics, illustrations, packaging design, advertising, and more.
Lead Designer | 2017-2021
Collaborated directly with the company founders to craft original brand identities, designing all aspects of product packaging, digital marketing, and web design. Launched several best-in-category brands of honey sticks & maple syrup, leading to a lucrative acquisition of the company by a larger CPG firm in 2021
Lead Visual Designer | 2018-2020
Developed brand standards, company logo, UI/UX protocol, and fundraising decks for a now 30-person Edutech startup as one of the first 5 employees.
Lead Designer | 2016-2018
Created marketable apparel designs for screenprinting, processed artwork from clients ensuring accuracy and a detail-oriented approach throughout the printing process.

Lead a team of up to 15 staff members, organizing logistics, prioritizing, responding to incidents, troubleshooting guest issues, maintaining a positive work environment / creating a positive culture within the shop.
Tour Leader | 2014-2015
Independently lead groups of international passengers on multi-week camping trips across the USA, exploring national parks and major cities, handling a wide variety of responsibilities over the course of a day: planning itineraries, shopping & cooking, driving for <10 hours, passenger injuries, nightly activities, etc.

Personal Interests
My design practice is directly informed by my life experience & pursuits, and the media I engage with. I am an avid outdoor athlete, an all-around bicycle enthusiast, a regular meditator & mental health advocate. I participate in a variety of community-driven art projects & experiments throughout California & beyond. I have a deep personal interest in the frontiers of mental health treatment, modern urban planning & its impacts on social equity, global climate solutions, and dogs.
